Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Support supplier selection process based on historical performances on Quality, Delivery and on time PPAP development. 
  • Leads and conducts supplier evaluation audits (Risk Assessment, Part and Process Audits (PAPA), PSO run at rates, etc) as required. Develop gap closure/improvement plans with supplier to address and effectively close audit findings. Provide regional based support as required. 
  • Supplier training/coaching which can result in upgrade of their process and systems as per the identified gaps and Meritor SQSR. 
  • Follow Supplier Development & PMO Management review and escalation process to effectively manage all activities. 
  • Provide Supplier Development support to Business unit initiatives. 
  • Ensure programs are launched on-time with no quality issues 
  • Liaison and coordinate with PMO on new performance programs to ensure timely implementation of supplier APQP development and updates are communicated to the key stakeholders. 
  • Liaison and coordinate with PMO on ongoing performance programs to assist in resolution of any issues that can impact the project critical path. 
  • Support Crisis Management, Capacity Planning, and Supplier Risk management (SRM) as needed. 
  • Identify quarterly improvement plans considering top chronic suppliers for supplier performance improvement (includes quality, delivery and capacity issues). 
  • Report out monthly Supplier PPM on quality & delivery and on time PPAP performance for respective business unit. 
  • Identify and implement short/mid/long term improvement projects to create a step function improvement in Supplier Performance Scorecards. 
  • Utilize and implement problem solving tools, lean management. Good understanding of Value Stream Mapping, 5S system Just In Time and Kanban, Six Sigma tools. 
  • Support plant Quality in resolution of quality issues raised through structured problem solving tools. 
  • Achieve AOP committed savings targets by supporting all the assigned programs in the region. 
  • Develop Strong Supplier development teamwork in the region.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical area or business (Engineering, Quality, or Business) 
  • Combined minimum of 5 years’ experience in problem solving, lean management, supplier development, Manufacturing engineering, program management and Quality. 
  • Process engineering experience in a Foundry, Forging, Assembly, Machining, stamping industry an added advantage. 
  • AIAG PPAP, MSA, SPC, FMEA, Control Plan, and APQP 
  • Structured Problem Solving – Six Sigma Black Belt or Shainin Journeyman 
  • Program launch experience 
  • Excel, Power Point, Word, MS Project 
  • Strong communication and team building skills 
  • Willingness to travel 50%of time
